What if the major industries, food Sharing organizations and active citizens could come together to reduce the amount of food being wasted in our country? At the same time, what if more food could be donated to help feed needy and hungry families?

These are the goals of the Save Food, Share Food, Share Joy (IFSA), an initiative of the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India and major Food Sharing Organizations across the country

IFSA brings together Citizens, Food Businesses, Corporates, Civil Society Organizations, Volunteers, Government and Local Bodies in a coordinated manner to prevent food being lost or wasted throughout the supply chain, from initial production down to final household consumption

Working Collaboratively Across Sectors IFSA seeks to:

Recover the surplus food generated
to feed the needy and hungry

Reduce the amount of
food waste generated

Increase the amount of safe and nutritious
food donated to those in need
